Why we love reality television shows

Reality TV shows are a relatively new concept, even though we seem to have lots of them on our screens today. They cover everything from competitions winning large sums of money to programs that bring couples together or break them apart. Reality TV is something that intrigues many people as we all have an inherent nosey streak. We like to know what other people are doing, and if it shocks us, then it captivates us even more. This is where the success of these kinds of shows occurs. Of course, in order for people to be able to fully enjoy them, they need a fully working aerial and a TV aerial repair Bristol company, such as https://aerial-installations-bristol.co.uk/ can definitely help out with this.

Here are some of the reality TV shows that have graced our screens over the years.

The Great British Bake Off – a long-running show that has been aired since 2010, The Bake Off sees amateur bakers coming into the tent to cook delicious delights every week. At the end of each show, someone is crowned baker of the week, and someone is eliminated until we reach the grand final, where three bakers battle it out to be crowned the winner.

Dragons’ Den – always full of emotion, Dragon’s Den is a staple on our televisions. Entrepreneurs step into the den to seek investment from one of the various dragons. There have been huge successes on the show, and there have also been some epic failures.

Embarrassing Bodies – this BAFTA Award-winning program saw us in the GP’s office with patients looking to talk about their embarrassing body issues. Many of the issues that are discussed are often seen as taboo in society or difficult to talk about. The aim of the show was to help break down these barriers and to encourage people to see their own doctors about any medical issues that they may have.

First Dates – this Channel 4 program has been on the air since 2013 and was filmed at the Paternoster Chop House in London, having now moved to The Refinery in Manchester. We get to see people meeting for the first time and sitting down for a nice meal and their first date. Some of them are incredible successes whilst others leave us hiding behind our pillows at awkward encounters.
